The soundtrack of my life as a movie
If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be?
I took this idea from Little Miss Sunshine State and with a music library of over 4,000 I thought I’d give it a shot. I think it’s a cool idea so I will make it a 2 post day and still have my scheduled post for Monday drop at midnight Eastern. I will narrow down my list of music to my top rated playlist. If I have the mp3 version, I’ll link here, otherwise you’re on your own to find it as I probably bought it legit style on iTunes and never stuck it on a CD.
So, here’s how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. When you go to a new question, press the next button
5. For every question, type the song that’s playing
6. Don’t lie and try to pretend you’re cool.
I promise I will put exactly whatever comes up. No tweaking for a “better” match, will just let randomness do it’s thing.
Opening Credits: Crazy – Gnarls Barkley
Would actually be kinda cool for the into to a movie I think.
Waking Up: Fortunate Son – Donovan Frankenreiter
I don’t know if this is a good get up and go song, but it’s a great cover.
First Day At School: Typical – Mute Math
This may have applied better if I kicked ass in school, but it’s a movie so we’ll say I did!
Falling In Love: Better Days(Acoustic Version) – Goo Goo Dolls
A little off for a love song but I guess it could be. It is a pretty tune.
Fight Song: So What – Pink
Haha, this is PERFECT for a fight song!
Breaking Up: Stop Fuckin’ Wit Me – Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz
Another case of good timing I think, kinda harsh though for a break-up.
Prom: Be Here Now (Live) – Ray Lamontagne
This would have been WAY better than my actual Prom memory song of Freebird. An amazingly beautiful song though, definitely a top favorite..
Life: Hey There Delilah – Plain White T’s
Too bad I don’t know anyone named Delilah. However this is quite the sweet love song. Boy loves girl who lives very far away. Boy sings to girl his hopes and dreams that someday they will be together and everything will be great. Distance is no object thanks to planes and trains, and someday they will be together. I guess the sweet of this song is good for the Life track.
Mental Breakdown: Rootless Tree – Damien Rice
Perfect…perfect…..perfect.
Driving: Hey Jude – The Beatles
I drive to this tune quite often, it’s fun to sing along loud and proud.
Flashback: Bad Day(Acoustic Version) – Daniel Powter
Yeah, maybe a flashback would resemble a bad day. Sheesh, that’s kind of depressing! It’s not all bad.
Getting Back Together: Fontanelle – Clem Snide
I think if you sing this to anyone, it would be difficult to resist.
Wedding: Good Find – Toby Lightman
Wow, another perfect timing for the “next” button. This would be a good wedding song actually.
Birth of Child: She Talks to Angels(Acoustic Version) – The Black Crowes
I can think of better child related songs, but alright, it IS random.
Final Battle: Coconut Skins – Damien Rice
At least it’s upbeat, great song nonetheless.
Death Scene: Soul Singing – The Black Crowes
Nice, a happy death song. I usually use this song to pep up, but I guess I will die to it. Ok.
Funeral Song: Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol
Hmmm, buried to a love song. I guess that’s better than Fade To Black by Metallica that I always envisioned.
End Credits: Imagine – John Lennon
Perfect. This would be exactly what I want people to get stuck in their heads as they walked out of the theater. Nice timing. If you don’t know this song, please go away or go get it.

How they hell did you get such perfect songs to pop up at all the right questions? Well, except for Life (Delilah).
Death + Soul Singing = perfection

Great list. I would have gone with Metallica, though. Imagine is my funeral song, too. I’m actually putting it in my funeral plans.
