Road Trips and Surprises

November 28th, 2008 — 12:01am

I am writing this post in advance in case I did not get a chance to on Thanksgiving or the day after.

The reason I did so early was because on Thanksgiving I am planning a fantastic surprise. I am going, for the first time in 12 years, have turkey dinner with my mom and my sister. My cousin is hosting the event and only my sister knows. Someone had to know so I knew exactly what house to go to! Will there be enough food? When is there not. Where will I sleep? Does it really matter. I am planning on spending some QT, by myself, with my immediate family. Perhaps I will go see the beach, because I can.

Tara R. if your home this weekend, perhaps we can meet up somewhere in the ville for a coffee or something. Let me know.

If you are reading this in America and you have’t gone to bed yet, how come you didn’t invite me to that party and you probably didn’t eat enough. Just kidding. Maybe.

Today is also Black Friday. Are any of you actually crazy enough to go shopping as a door buster? I kinda did once, and it took me 2 hours to check out with some computer memory and a CD. So I will NEVER DO IT AGAIN. I would rather go to work, work is actually not bad on this day since no one is around and your phone is pretty quiet. I originally planned on being there but instead decided suprising my mom would be better. Also, who knows when I’ll see my sister again before her wedding in April. That’s way better to me.

Thanksgiving

November 27th, 2008 — 12:01am

Today is Thanksgiving. I could do a nice thankful post here, but instead I did a guest post over at my friend’s blog, Mommy is Moody. I will warn you though, I don’t like holidays very much so my post will not be all happy and nice. It is however, honest. See you back here tomorrow!

Brand New Day

November 26th, 2008 — 12:01am

I was going to do a normal story type post today, or even a new music Tuesday post. New music out today is not very exciting and I don’t have any stories I’m willing to share just yet.

However, back to back days now on my commute into work, I got blasted with a song intended for me to be discovered at that precise moment. This song is a new single and not another old song, but damn is it pretty and inspiring. Enjoy!

Joshua Radin – Brand New Day

Lyrics:
Some kind of magic
Happens late at night
When the moon smiles down on me
And bathes me in it’s light

I fell asleep beneath you
In the tall blades of grass
When I woke the world was new
I never had to ask

It’s a brand new day
The sun is shinning
It’s a brand new day
For the first time
In such a long long time
I know
I’ll be ok

Most kind of stories
Save the best part for last
Most stories have a hero who finds
You make your past your past
Ya you make your past your past

It’s a brand new day
The sun is shinning
It’s a brand new day
For the first time
In such a long long time
I know
I’ll be ok

This cycle never ends
Gotta fall in order to mend

And it’s a brand new day
It’s a brand new day
For the first time
Inn such a long long time
I know
I’ll be ok

PS – If anyone wants to send me some iTunes gift cards, I have $55 worth in my shopping cart on hold.
