Yes, in 24 hours I will be sitting my little, but firm and well shaped, arse in my seat eagerly awaiting my favorite(one of) songwriters to take the stage. My seat will be front row center of the balcony so I will have no obstruction and the sound should be perfect. I don;t even know who is actually opening for Ben Folds. I don;t care, usually I do care, but for a Ben Folds headline show? Not this time. I will when I’m there no doubt, and I’m sure they will be good. I have never seen Ben Folds do his main show in person. I saw him open for John Mayer and that was great, so was John, but I want more than 5 or 6 songs by Mr. Folds. I want the 2 hour performance that dives deeper into his deep catalog. I love all his music. I’d be interested to meet him before the show and talk to him about various things, but alas, I will just enjoy his performance with the rest. Seriously, how do people get backstage to meet people? I’ve often wondered. Even then, with a backstage pass, do you just go knock on the door or what? Anyway, maybe Thursday I’ll have some pics or maybe some pics will show up on Twitter. I will not scream like a little girl at the Jonas Brothers, ut I will be giddy with excitement.
Of course, tonight, you get a Ben Folds song. As if you expected anything else… Although embedding is disabled as these are official Ben Folds releases on YouTube. So click those links or look around here for yourself.
I wonder if he’ll see the actual Jesusland here in Orlando? They actually have a rock climb and I wonder if you climb to heaven? Jesusland – the song
Ok, serious and very true story. I was JUST about to hit publish on this post. My wife and I are watching Religulous right now and as I am finishing up this post there is a scene in the movie where Bill Maher goes to the theme park I JUST linked to with the background music to the song I also JUST linked to. How cool is that?
Yesterday we had a wonderful trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I’m sure the wife has better photos cause she hogs the camera, but I snapped a ton of shots from my iPhone. I sure do wish I could do some zooming on that (wink wink Apple). Anyway, I’ve never taken so many pictures in one day with my camera, nor have I missed so may other pics I wanted to take. Is kind of a pain when you can’t zoom to the desired detail (know what I mean, nudge nudge Apple developers). So with all the shots I took, here they are without titles, also pretty meaningless as most of these are self-explanatory anyway. Add your own captions, I don’t feel like it. Ask any questions you may have.
We started our day with the oldest playing in her first ever organized sport competition. Her first soccer match to e exact. If you’ve not seen a 3-4 year old soccer game, it is the cutest thing you’ll ever see. It’s mostly a rugby looking scrum but they give it their best. In this picture she’s in the thick of it in the grey jersey closest to the camera. She played very well, never quit and did her best. I am so very proud of her.
After that we went to a friend’s daughters 5th birthday party. It was at one of those indoor inflatable slides places. The kids had fun running around and although very chaotic at times they had fun. My youngest got run over by a couple 10 year olds as she tried to get off a slide, but it was a Saturday afternoon. TONS of kids being aloud to run free and bounce and climb and slide leads to chaos. Fun though…..for them!
After that, the wife and I dropped the girls of at the sister in laws and we got an afternoon for ourselves. Thanks to my mother’s employer who left a couple tickets for me to the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. That’s a fancy schmancy private golf course here in Orlando and this is a PGA Tour event. Also thanks to her employer, we got invited to come spend the day with them at their skybox overlooking the 17th green. That means we had a comfy seat in a covered and fanned area with TV’s and an open bar. Like how casual I mentioned that last part? An open bar. Sweet…. Anyway you can imagine with the temperature in the mid-80′s a strong wind or breeze, it was a most enjoyable venture. You can watch the final round tomorrow on NBC. Today was on TV too if you scanned by. Oh yeah, we got to see Tiger Woods go to work.
Tomorrow, rain storms pending, we’re going to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I hope we get sunshine!
