ACK! A Blizzard
Buckle up folks, it’s gonna snow. A lot. Apparently. Gonna be cold here too, like in the 50′s, but back to mid 60′s come the weekend.
The blizzard got here too and despite my frozen fingers, I was able to snap a picture of what it looks like to us here in Florida. Okay maybe not frozen, just a little wet from the Florida rain snow.
Bragging about our weather is my secret plan to get you all moving here in droves to drive my home value back up.
Snuggle up, keep warm, and stay safe folks.

God, I’m a dork. I just spent ten minutes on weather.com looking for our snow forecast but yes, NOW I get what you were saying. Sheesh.

We were caught up in a Panhandle blizzard too, dangit it’s cold here. (I’m hoping to lure a few people down to the tropics too.)

@Tara R., I think you should drop the word cold when trying to lure people.

At least our summers don’t melt the tar in the roads.

@lceel, Well that’s only a problem if you walk barefoot on the street. Not suggested by most people in any city. Besides, I’ll trade a warmer summer for no real winter any day. A/C and no heating oil bill works out well!

50′s?
Meh.
But I definitely remember that being miserable cold while living there.
Now 50′s just means a warm day.

@Momisodes, It wasn’t miserable cold! Not in the slightest. We put on our light sweater coats and admired the brilliant sunshine and enjoyed a cool breeze.

I don’t know. I might have preferred snow because I was out in this stuff today thinking, meh, just a little rain. No, it was a lot of rain. And it sucked. Snow would have kept me from venturing out in the first place.

@Faiqa, Well, it was still in the 50′s though. That’s better than 35 and below.

I’m writing this as you commented over on Xbox4NappyRashes site congratulating him on the birth of his daughter.
I am writing it here because this post is down the page a bit and i don’t want him to see it
A while ago, before Martin’s (xbox4nappyrash) wife got pregnant I promised I would post a youtube video of me singing “Yes” by Mcalomont & Butler whilst accompanying myself on the ukulele to celebrate the birth of their child.
This will not be a pretty sight as I can neither sing, nor really play the ukulele (this isn’t false modesty – I really can’t).
However what I thought might make it really cool would be instead of just a straight video I put together a montage of videos shot by readers of his blog all celebrating – i.e. dancing, sticking thumbs up, cheering, holding up signs, that sort of thing. It would have to be something that would work without sound as I would put my (awful) soundtrack over the top of it.
It would be great if you could participate. If you send me a short 5-15 second video clip (or at a push a photo, but a video would be much better) along with your name and blog then I’ll put it together with other submissions and get something ready for the end of the week. I think it would be a really nice thing to do for martin to show him and E how pleased we are for him. and Martin has been incredibly supportive of me and my various projects in the past.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. My email address is dghughes28@yahoo.co.uk
Thanks again.
Dan.
