Donuts for Daddy

Today was “donuts for daddy” day at my youngest child’s pre-school. They decided to do it 2 weeks early as I guess school will be out come Father’s Day. To honor the dads, the kids have donuts and juice for Dad followed by a performance of 4 wonderfully awesome pre-school songs. I was presented with a couple laminated gifts and a block of wood with her picture on it and a message written on the back. One of the gifts was a key to her heart along with the gift of a “Daddy Day” with her. No promise needed for that kiddo, I love our Daddy Days!

I dunno how many kids are in the class, but there was only about 10 dads, give or take a few. Boy did they miss out.

We did color a big sign that got hung up as well. This was ours in progress…

Here is a video of one of the songs. Mine is the little one in the middle. We’re not tall people. Also, if the video isn’t great it’s because I took it with my phone which technically doesn’t have a video camera. Some free app I got makes video somehow with the built in still camera. Version 4 will find my pocket sometime this year, it comes out on my birthday. hint hint.

The best thing a Dad can do for his kids, is to be a part of their lives. Nothing fancy, nothing extraordinary… your kids will always remember how much you did to just hang out with them. Bravo!!

Very cute. Can’t wait for my son of 7 months to grow up and start making little knick knacks for me at school. I remember when I made them for my parents and they were very grateful. They still have those old things up in their house!

@Heerow, there is nothing better than those little knick knacks. Also, do wait and savor all the moments up until they start making such things. The days go by too fast.
